Dust and Shadow
June 6, 1889…a cabinetmaker accidently overturned and ignited a glue pot. The result was the Great Seattle Fire, destroying 31 city blocks. In response, the city leaders decided to regrade the streets one to two stories higher due to flooding that regularly occurred in Pioneer Square.
The Seattle Underground was born, a network of underground passageways and basements in downtown Seattle. Closed to the public since 1907, the kindred of Seattle use the tunnels to hold major events and there is a permanent Elysium in effect. It is the seat of vampiric power within the city; a shadow of Seattle’s glory under the kine’s very nostrils.
